There, Andy and the younger heroes will have to deal with far more killer Chucky dolls than they planned, a still Chucky-possessed Nica (Fiona Dourif), Tiffany if she remains loyal, and a kind of sleeper agent in Junior.
As she tried to assuage the press, Mayor Michelle Cross (Barbara Alyn Woods) announced a charity movie screening that will no doubt line up the townsfolk up for slaughter. And with Christine Elise's Kyle not making it to Hackensack alongside Andy, he’s stepped right into the trap with no backup and countless enemies rather than the few he was expecting.Ĭhucky episode 7, “Twice the Grieving, Double the Loss” even set the stage for where that final confrontation will likely take place. It’s likely that Chucky was aware of Andy hunting down his cult, and the events of Chucky have been about moving pieces in place for an ambush.
As Chucky and Junior watched from a window and Andy walked obliviously up to the house, the killer doll stated that Junior’s brutal actions meant that “ the real fun could finally begin.” Whatever other plans Chucky has for his hometown, it was clear that a large part of his plan has been to bring things full circle and finally defeat Andy once and for all. Junior’s descent into darkness and joining Chucky’s side also coincided with the long-awaited arrival of Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent) in Hackensack.
As such, not only has the Chucky TV show succeeded in exploring his origin but also paved the way to expand on the mysticism at the heart of the Child’s Play franchise.
There’s evidently a correlation and/or some power in provoking such a murderous moment, one that Chucky has been wanting to exploit in order to activate his army. Instead, it illuminated exactly why Chucky had been “ murder-whispering” around town. The timing between Junior’s first kill and the awakening was clearly no coincidence. Equally, the seemingly harmless Billy that Jake had intercepted also sprang to life and picked up a knife. As a captured Devon (Björgvin Arnarson) watched on, a Chucky doll’s hands twitched and the eyes blinked. In the process, Chucky’s machinations and ultimate endgame were brought into sharper focus. Somewhat tying in with another Chucky theory that multiple killer dolls have been running rampant in Hackensack, Junior gave in to his rage and murdered his father. As a result, Junior found himself ripe for the manipulations of Chucky and Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly). Led to believe that it was a suicide, Junior was left with his overbearing father Logan (Devon Sawa), the conclusion that his one caring constant had willingly abandoned him, and a lot of hate. Not long after breaking up with Lexy, his mother Bree (Lexa Doig) was dramatically killed right in front of him. Most recently, circumstances saw his best friend and girlfriend navigate more toward Jake, leaving Junior as the alienated one. Having started out as a popular student and successful athlete, Junior’s life has increasingly fallen apart across Chucky season 1.
Ultimately, however, a theory was confirmed when Junior (Teo Briones) became Chucky's protégé in Chucky episode 7, “Twice the Grieving, Double the Loss.” Chucky’s subsequent attempts with Caroline (Carina Battrick) and Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind) also failed.
Though he came close with Jake (Zackary Arthur), the pair ultimately became enemies. Ever since Chucky (Brad Dourif) targeted Hackensack, New Jersey, he’s tried to lure teen residents to the dark side. The various threads of the Chucky TV show finally came together as Chucky episode 7 clarified the killer doll’s plan and Junior became his new protégé. Warning: SPOILERS for Chucky season 1, episode 7.
